Club Access FOBS

Please keep ALL GATES locked!  To unlock the walk thru gate and restrooms, hold the back of your FOB (proximity reader) to the black panel and it will beep and the light will turn red.  Press the large gray button on the FOB to open the boat gate.  The boat gate will close automatically.

FOB Problem:  If you need assistance or if your FOB fails to work after replacing the batteries, please notify the Managing Agent.  We will have someone help you and your FOB will be replaced at no charge if it fails to operate properly.

DO NOT LOAN YOUR CLUB KEY FOB TO ANYONE!   Member must be in possession of the key FOB at all times.  Any key FOB found in possession of a non-member, or used by a member to permit access by an unauthorized person or unregistered vessel is a violation and will be confiscated.  Notify the Managing Agent if your FOB is lost so that it can be deactivated immediately.

Access programming of your assigned FOB will be controlled by the Managing Agent.  We can change your FOB access setting from a Master to a submaster.  If necessary, we can also deactivate your FOB if it is lost or for non-compliance.

Each homeowner member is issued one (1) Master Key FOB requiring $100 deposit.   The Master FOB deposit is $100 or a replacement  (lost) FOB for $100

Non-forfeited key FOB deposits will be refunded upon the return of the registered key FOB within 10 day business days PRIOR to transfer of ownership during escrow.  Escrow will be instructed to collect $100 per FOB for failure to return the FOB(s).  All key FOBS to club premises remain the property of the Alii Shores Yacht Club.  Members are permitted to use a FOB subject to all club rules and restrictions.

  1. VESSEL REGISTRATION:  Our Vessel Registration existing form requires that you comply with all state laws.  Those laws require that each operator of a vessel of 10 horsepower or more have completed an approved state Boating Safety course.  You must provide a valid boating education certificate indicating that you are in compliance with the DLNR mandatory boating education requirement.  Each of the approved courses provides a written certificate for this purpose.  For more information and online education courses go to:  http://dlnr.hawaii.gov/dobor. Free online education:  BOATUS.ORG (800) 245-2628

  2. LIABILITY INSURANCE:  We require proof of liability insurance for your boat.  You will need to provide proof of insurance coverage for $300,000 general public liability and list the club as an “additional interest”.   Member should advise their insurance agent to send a new certificate of insurance prior to expiration.

  3. WHEEL CHOCKS:   You will need to use either rubber or other composite chocks specifically designed for this purpose.

Boat & Kayak Storage

All storage at the club must be authorized by the Commodore.  There is a storage fee for all stalls and a member occupying a rental stall that has not been authorized shall be fined by the Board.  Any vessel, vehicle or trailer parked without authorization on Club property is subject to tow at the expense of the owner.  Exceptions may be allowed for emergency conditions.

Boat and kayak rack rental is available on a first-come-first-served basis.  Storage is rented on a monthly basis and we do not pro-rate the fees for partial use. Members must provide 2 weeks advance written notice to cancel assigned storage.  Managing Agent will acknowledge storage cancellation in writing and storage fees will be adjusted for the following month.

Boat stall assignments will be made by the Commodore.  Member must notify the Commodore if they wish to relocate their assigned boat stall location.  Due to limited accommodations, members are normally limited to one (1) boat stall and two (2) kayak racks per club member.  An additional boat stall or kayak rack may be rented on a month-to-month basis only if there is no one on the waiting list.

All vessels stored on club property must be seaworthy, and the associated trailer must be sufficiently operable to move the vessel from the premises on request.  The Board may require that the member demonstrate both capabilities.  Any vessel which is not seaworthy or any trailer which is not operable shall be denied storage and removed at the member’s expense from the premises if the member has not done so after written notice from the club.

Assigned boat storage is restricted to parking of your boat, trailer and jet ski only.  Any other personal property will be in violation of club rules.  Do not impede the flow of traffic by leaving your vehicle attached to your trailer (use the temporary stalls A-E and along the perimeter).  Vehicle may only be parked in marked and designated spaces, and only for the purpose of using the club premises.

Violations of Club Rules

The Board may impose fines and penalties for violations of these rules and the vessel registration requirements.  These penalties may nclude:  monetary penalties, temporary or permanent forfeiture or temporary deactivation of the FOB; removal of unauthorized watercraft or trailers from the club property; and suspension or loss of membership privileges.  Note that suspension or loss of membership privileges does not excuse the member from payment of dues and storage fees required virtue of mandatory club membership.

At all times, Club Members, Tenants and Guests use the club  facility at their own  risk; and by such use, they agree to indemnify and save the Alii Shores Yacht Club, Kamehameha Schools, its Officers, Directors, Managing Agent, club members and  the successors and assigns of each of them, harmless from and against all claims and demands whatsoever including but not limited to loss, damage, including property damage, personal injury and wrongful death, arising out of or in connection with using the waterways and/or facilities at the Alii Shores Yacht Club.
